2012

God showed us the concept of reaching those we refer to as the “Prisoners outside the prison.” Many individuals we aim to support—such as those who are broken, lost, abandoned, and struggling with addiction—are often confined in an emotional and spiritual sense. They experience their own form of imprisonment in the challenging environments of the Inner-City, right at our doorstep.

2013

Prompted by the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we began exploring potential opportunities, and as a result, we witnessed immediate openings. This led to the establishment of the Inner-City Ministry in Kempton Park on April 21, 2013, now operating under Registration Number 170-439 NPO.

FOUNDATION

Revelation from Scripture

His Promise to the People

“I have seen what they do, but I will heal them anyway! I will lead them. I will comfort those who mourn, bringing words of praise to their lips. May they have abundant peace, both near and far,” says the Lord, who heals them.” Isaiah 57:18-19 (NLT).

His Assurance to Us

“I will go before you and make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron. I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that I, the Lord, who call you by your name, Am the God of Israel.” Isaiah 45:2-3 (NKJV)

OUR STORY

The concept of reaching the "Prisoners Outside the Prison" emphasizes the importance of engaging with individuals facing significant challenges such as addiction, homelessness, and prostitution.   These individuals often experience a sense of confinement within their own circumstances. They are members of our communities and frequently carry emotional and spiritual burdens that require our compassion, support, and outreach efforts.

The Mission

Spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ through numerous initiatives

  • Street Evangelism: Sending evangelism teams out on designated streets in the Inner-City, establishing contact with the homeless, befriending them and inviting them to attend the fellowship gatherings.
  • Small-Group Meetings: Presenting a program at a central venue in the Inner-City, (thus ensuring easy access for visitors), that incorporates a free meal, a bible-based message that deals with relevant life issues and then followed up by small group discussions with time for questions, sharing and prayer.
  • Children’s Ministry: Investing in the future of our youth.
  • Intercessory Prayer: Intercessors at branch level, 24/7 Intercessory prayer groups and Spiritual mapping.
  • Meeting basic needs: Feeding and Clothing the needy, distributing blankets, bibles, toiletries and other items to assist those in need.
  • Offering: Hope and Encouragement
  • Networking: with organizations, NPO’s, NGO’s, individuals and churches who are equipped to assist with addiction, prostitution, shelters, safe houses, skills development, courses, CV’s, ID’s, employment, counselling, medical assistance etc.
  • Encouraging: Attendance of courses which will contribute to spiritual growth and training for those visitors who express the desire to become involved with Inner-City Ministry.
  • End goal: To have the program facilitated by the visitors themselves, passing on what they have learnt to new visitors. Freely we received, freely we give.

The Vision

  • Bringing the love of Christ to the heart of the city, a love that sets free, that brings healing and restores hope.
  • Reaching the Prisoners outside the Prison. Going out into a broken world full of lost and hopeless people and ministering the love of Jesus to them.
  • Restoring relationships (among people and with God), ministering healing and truth.
  • Establishing Godly networks, a platform within which the body of Christ can function effectively.
  • Changing cities and communities forever by being His hands and feet.
